TIDBRF 2012 Sport Division - General Information:

Sport Division returns to Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival (TIDBRF) 2012. Categories offered are: Open; Women; and Mixed (NEW!)

All paddlers on Sport Division Crews must be a member of DBC through their club membership.

In any case where there is a conflict in rules within the Sport Division, the DBC/IDBF rules will supersede TIDBRF.

Life jacket exemption for Sport Division is currently under review.

Race distance for Sport Division will be 500m only.

Sport Division will consist of 1 heat (Saturday) and 1 final (Sunday).

Crew composition for Sport Division will be identical to current TIDBRF roster guidelines.

Photo ID - only current DBC issued picture ID will be accepted.

Random ID checks will be made to ensure paddlers are sport race eligible.

All DBC clubs are responsible to register and provide DBC with all information/pictures to ensure DBC picture ID will be manufactured in time (at least two weeks prior to TIDBRF)

TIDBRF reserves the right to make any changes to the Sport Division.

Open Sport Division:
Cost: $350 + HST
Open Sport Division will consist of 1 heat (Saturday) and 1 final (Sunday).
Crew composition: any combination of men/women (over the age of 16). This includes drummer and steersperson.
Open Sport Division is limited to first 6 crews registered.
Registration is determined by: Completed Application; Full Payment; Waivers completed and submitted; Full race roster completed and submitted to TIDBRF and DBC.
Winning crew receives free entry into TIDBRF 2013 Sport Open Division.

Sport Women:
Cost: $350 + HST
Women Sport Division will consist of 1 heat (Saturday) and 1 final (Sunday).
Crew composition: all paddlers, drummer and steersperson must be female (over the age of 16).
Women Sport Division is limited to first 6 crews registered.
Registration is determined by: Completed Application; Full Payment; Waivers completed and submitted; Full race roster completed and submitted to TIDBRF and DBC.
Winning crew receives free entry into TIDBRF 2013 Sport Women Division

Mixed Sport Division (NEW!):
Cost: $350 + HST
Mixed Sport Division will consist of 1 heat (Saturday) and 1 final (Sunday).
Crew composition: combination of men/women (minimum of 8 women) (over the age of 16). This includes drummer and steersperson.
Mixed Sport Division is limited to first 6 crews registered.
Registration is determined by: Completed Application; Full Payment; Waivers completed and submitted; Full race roster completed and submitted to TIDBRF and DBC.
Winning crew receives free entry into TIDBRF 2013 Sport Mixed Division.

**Paddlers must be registered with a Premier Mixed/Premier Women or Junior Mixed team at TIDBRF 2012 prior to participating in the TIDBRF 2012 Sport Mixed Division. Officials of the Sport Division for TIDBRF 2012 reserve the right to disqualify the team(s) of any offending participant.
